Questions, answered
Everything you might want to know before you order. If yours is not here, the studio is a phone call away.
Ordering and delivery
›Can I get flowers today?
Yes, on delivery days. Order online before 11:00 and the studio makes and delivers it the same day, except to Tunbridge Wells, which the van reaches the next delivery day. After that, tomorrow is the earliest; the checkout only offers days we deliver.
›Do you deliver on a Sunday?
Not as a rule. The van goes out Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and the checkout only offers those days. For a Sunday that matters, ring the studio and we will see what can be done.
›How early should I order for Valentine's Day and Mother's Day?
A week ahead is comfortable and the day before is usually still fine online; the last few hours before a big day are the ones that fill. Order online on any day up to the day itself and the checkout will only offer a day the studio can keep.
›Do you deliver to hospitals and funeral directors?
Funeral directors, churches and crematoria, yes. Say which on the order and we will time it to the service. Hospitals vary ward by ward on what they will take, so ring the studio first and we will check.
›Where do you deliver?
By our own van across Sevenoaks & villages (TN13, TN14, TN15, TN16) £7.95; Tonbridge & Hildenborough (TN9, TN10, TN11, ME19) £12.95; Tunbridge Wells (TN1, TN2, TN3, TN4) £20. Type your postcode on the shop or delivery page, or in the basket, and it tells you the charge before you pay. Delivery is free on orders of £150 and over. Collection from the shop at Blighs Meadow is free.
›Can I choose a delivery time?
We deliver through the day on a round planned each morning. Tell us in the “For the driver” box at the checkout if the flowers must land before a certain time and we will do our best; for a funeral we always ring to confirm.
›What if nobody is home?
We deliver once. The driver leaves the flowers somewhere safe and dry, or with a neighbour, and texts or emails to say where, if you have asked to be told about your order. If there is nowhere to leave them, they come back to the studio and we let you know: collect them from the shop, or we bring them again for the delivery charge.
›Can I send flowers further afield?
Letterbox flowers go anywhere in the UK by DPD. A fresh bunch is made to be delivered by our own van, so it goes only where the van does.
›Is there a minimum spend?
Our fresh flowers online start at £50, for the time each one takes to make well. Candles, vases and the rest of the shop can be any amount.
›Are you part of Interflora or a relay network?
No. Flower & Glory is an independent florist, and every order on this website is made in our own studio in Sevenoaks.
The flowers
›Will it look like the photograph?
Every bunch is made to order with flowers fresh from the auction, so the stems vary with the season. The shape, the size and the feel are what you see; the exact flowers are the studio's pick that week.
›How long will they last?
A hand-tied bouquet lasts five to seven days with a fresh cut and clean water, longer for the hardy stems and a little less in a warm room. The care card that comes with every order says how; it is also on the website under Looking after your flowers.
›Can I ask for particular flowers or colours?
Yes. Ring the studio, or reply to your order confirmation, and describe them. If a flower is not in season we will say so rather than substitute quietly.
›Do you do plants?
Planted arrangements, bulbs in season and orchids, under Plant arrangements in the shop. They are the answer for a gift that should go on for weeks.
›Do you send flowers for festivals like Hanukkah, Diwali and Eid?
Yes. Each has its own page under Festivals and celebrations on the meaning of flowers page, with the dates, the bunches and candles that suit it, and the day to order by for the van.
›Can I send a bunch and a candle together?
Yes. Where the studio has chosen a candle for a bunch, the bunch's page offers the two as a gift set: one press puts both in the basket at their own prices, and they travel in the same box.
Weddings, funerals and businesses
›How do wedding flowers work?
Every wedding starts with a consultation, at the shop or by phone, and a written quotation by kind of piece. Dates fill early in summer; get in touch as soon as you have the date and the venue.
›How is a wedding booked, and when is it paid for?
A deposit of 30% of the quotation, paid when you confirm, secures your date; the balance is due three weeks before the wedding, and changes are welcome until then. Our wedding and event booking terms (under All policies, at the foot of every page) set out the rest: the flowers on the day, hired vases and stands, and moving or cancelling a date.
›How quickly can you do funeral flowers?
Usually within a day or two. Ring the studio; we will talk you through the pieces, agree the words on the card and deliver to the funeral director.
›Do you do contract flowers for offices, hotels and restaurants?
Yes, weekly or fortnightly. Each delivery goes on your account as it goes out, and one statement comes at the start of every month. The corporate page says more, and a quotation is a phone call away.
Workshops
›How do I book a workshop?
Pick a date on the workshops page when the next ones are published, and pay for your places as you book. The confirmation comes by email with the date for your calendar, and everything you need on the day is provided. A private session for a group is arranged with the studio.
›Can we book a private workshop or a hen party?
Yes: hen parties, birthdays, a team afternoon or a family at home, at the studio or at yours. Tell us the occasion, how many and roughly when at the foot of the workshops page, and we will shape it and send a price.
Vouchers, subscriptions and the shop
›How do gift vouchers work?
Any amount from £10, emailed at once or on the morning you choose, spent at the checkout or read out at the counter, in one go or over several visits. They last twelve months.
›What is a flower subscription?
The season's flowers delivered weekly or fortnightly and paid for as each delivery goes out, with a gift in the first box. Pause, skip or stop from your account whenever you like.
›Can I pay in the shop?
Yes, by card or cash at the counter in Blighs Meadow, and an account customer can order by phone and pay on invoice.
›How do I return something from Home & Glory?
Bought online, you may cancel within fourteen days of receiving it and send it back unused for a refund. Bought in the shop, bring it back within fourteen days with your receipt and we will exchange it or credit it. Fresh flowers are made for you and cannot be returned, but if they are not right on the day, ring us and we will put it right.
