Flowers for romance

Red roses say it plainly and there is nothing wrong with plain. But the language of flowers has a wider vocabulary for love (the tulip's declaration, the ranunculus's charm, the anemone's anticipation, the sweet pea's blissful pleasure), and a bunch that mixes them reads as chosen rather than bought in a hurry. The season decides what is at its best; the studio decides how it sits together.

For a date, send them to the door on the day itself. For Valentine's, order early: the fourteenth is the busiest day of a florist's year and the van's round fills. Everything is arranged in Sevenoaks and delivered locally the same day before the cut-off (Tunbridge Wells the next day), or posted through the letterbox anywhere in the UK for the person who is not here.
