Flowers for a loss should be handled quietly and got exactly right. Tell us who they were for and what you'd like to say. We'll take care of the rest, gently and without fuss, and deliver to the funeral director, the church or the house.
What we arrange
We arrange hand-tied sheaves, tributes and arrangements for services, and quieter flowers for the house afterwards. Everything is made to order in the Sevenoaks studio from what is at its best that week, and none of it is formulaic or off a shelf.
Every tribute carries a handwritten card. If you're not sure what to write, we'll help you find the words. It's a conversation we're used to having, and there's no rush in it.
The studio keeps a sympathy book of past tributes and forms to choose from, so you don't have to describe everything from nothing at a hard time. Ask when you call in and we'll sit down with it together.

The pieces
Wreaths, casket sprays, posy pads and shapes
Funeral wreaths
The traditional ring, in the season's flowers on a base of foliage: a classic white and green, a single colour, or the flowers they grew. It is sized to stand on the coffin or beside it, and made so it travels.
Casket and coffin sprays
The main piece on the coffin, usually from the closest family: a single-ended spray for the foot, or a double-ended spray running the length of the lid. We ask about the coffin and the service so it is made to fit.
Posy pads and sheaves
A round posy pad of massed flowers, or a hand-tied sheaf laid flat. These are the pieces most often sent by friends, colleagues and the wider family, and the ones that can go on to the house or the grave afterwards.
Hearts, letters and shapes
A heart, a cushion, a pillow, a name or a word in letters, or a shape that meant something (a football, a cat, a teapot). We make them on sustainable bases wherever we can; letters are the exception, made on floral foam. Ask early for lettering, as it takes longer to make.

How to order
Delivery to funeral directors and churches, and how to order
Funeral flowers are delivered by the studio's own van to funeral directors, churches, crematoria and chapels across Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and the villages between, and to the house where that is wanted. We ring the funeral director to confirm the time the flowers should arrive, so they are there before the service and never in the way of it.
Most tributes can be made within a day or two; ring the studio and we will talk you through the pieces, agree the words on the card and take the details of the service. Ordering in person at Blighs Meadow, by phone or by email are all fine. For funeral flowers we would rather speak than have you fill in a form, but the enquiry form is there if it is easier. Payment is taken when the order is confirmed, by card over the phone or at the counter.

Questions we are asked
›Do you deliver to hospitals and funeral directors?
Funeral directors, churches and crematoria, yes. Say which on the order and we will time it to the service. Hospitals vary ward by ward on what they will take, so ring the studio first and we will check.
›Can I choose a delivery time?
We deliver through the day on a round planned each morning. Tell us in the “For the driver” box at the checkout if the flowers must land before a certain time and we will do our best; for a funeral we always ring to confirm.
›How quickly can you do funeral flowers?
Usually within a day or two. Ring the studio; we will talk you through the pieces, agree the words on the card and deliver to the funeral director.
