Passover, Pesach in Hebrew, remembers the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt. It begins at sundown with the Seder, a meal with its own order of readings, questions and foods, and it lasts seven days in Israel and eight in most homes outside it.
It falls in the spring, so spring flowers are the natural choice: tulips, ranunculus and blossom fresh from the auction, or bulbs planted in a basket that carry on after the festival is over. If the family keeps the festival, have the flowers arrive before it begins.
