The short version
Flower & Glory does not run cameras to watch customers or staff. If a camera is ever installed at the shop or in the van, this policy is how it will be run, and this page will say so before it is switched on.
Why we would use one
A camera would be there for one reason only: the security of the shop, the people in it and the stock. It would deter theft, damage or an assault and, if one happened, help to investigate it. It would not be used to monitor how anybody works, and it would never record sound.
Where it would point
A camera would cover the till, the door and the yard where deliveries are left. It would not cover a toilet, a changing area, a staff break area or a neighbour's property, and it would be set so that as little of the pavement as possible is in view.
Signs
Anywhere a camera records, a sign at the entrance says so, says who runs it and gives a way to contact us. A camera without a sign is not one we would run.
Who sees the pictures
The owner, and a member of staff the owner has named to review footage. Pictures are looked at only when there is a reason: an incident, a report of one, or a request from the police. Nobody watches the feed as a matter of routine.
How long we keep them
Recordings are kept for thirty days and then overwritten, unless a recording is needed for an incident under investigation, in which case that recording is kept until the matter is closed and then deleted.
Sharing with the police or a court
We share footage with the police when they ask for it in connection with a crime, and with a court or an insurer when we are obliged to. We record each disclosure: what was shared, with whom and why.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of any footage in which you appear. Write to us with the date, the time and a description of yourself; we answer within a month, and we blur other people out of the copy where we can. You may also ask us to delete footage of you, and we will unless we have to keep it for one of the reasons above. Our privacy notice sets out the rest of your rights.
Questions and complaints
Write to enquiries@flowerandglory.co.uk, call 01732 743419, or write to Flower & Glory, 12 Blacks Yard, Blighs Meadow, Sevenoaks, Kent TN13 1DS. If you are not happy with our answer you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes to this policy
We review this policy once a year and whenever the shop's arrangements change. The version and the date at the top of this page say which version you are reading; the history at the foot lists every change.
History of this document
Every version, with the day it took effect (and, where we published a change, the minute). The version in force is the one on this page.
